Wirakiya™ Oil

The emu (Dromaius novaehallandiae) is an Australian flightless bird that resembles a half size ostrich. The emu is the source of a thick and complex bright yellow body oil that has outstanding cosmetic and medicinal qualities. This emu oil has become more popular recently due to numerous health claims surrounding its uses and possible benefits.

One major consideration about its use is that it is of animal origin and until recently the emu bird has been sacrificed solely to extract the oil. Today the meat and eggs of this bird are also consumed in a small but apparently slowly growing niche. 

Another major consideration is that all products from the emu are very high price and this has also being a deterrent in consumers’ acceptance. 

Lastly, products that contain emu oil and have lower price are usually made with oil that comes from wild emu birds or emu birds that were raised with low cost feed and in inadequate farming conditions. This besides being questionable from a humane standpoint could also produce malnourishment in the emus and their oil could have marked deficiencies, contaminant elements or bacteria. 

Vegetal sources allow us to better control contamination and we can also standardize the product outcome so that every time we obtain a consistent vegetal oil complex with the precise high level of phytochemicals needed.

With this criteria we design a Vegetal Oil Complex and called it Wirakiya™ Oil which has numerous nutricosmetic (a nutritional supplement that supports the normal functions of the skin and have a known antioxidant effect that reduces the impact of free radicals in the skin) applications as well as many topical applications.

The components of Wirakiya™ oil have been a part of the diet, cosmetic ingredients and medicinal repertoire of ancient cultures and have been used for several millennia. 

Wirakiya™ oil softens and even dissolves the hardened sebum that clogs pores, this gives it high value in skin care formulations as a component for skin cleansing. Wirakiya™ oil has been used to relieve minor aches and pains, help wounds heal quicker, and protect skin from the elements mainly as a moisturizer and by helping balance all skin functions.

The skin easily absorbs Wirakiya™ oil so Wirakiya™ oil can transport or carry other compounds when they are mixed together.
